We are now looking for a result-oriented, and enthusiastic R&D Engineer to join our team of three experts.
Job Description
In this role, you will focus on developing chemical-based solutions for manufacturing processes and products. You will work on both applied technology research and product development projects. You will report to our CTO, Petri Jetsu.
The anticipated start date for the position is September 1st, 2025. The position is not location-bound, but the R&D center is located in Vaajakoski, Jyväskylä, and your primary work location must be in Finland. The role also involves some travel, for example to chemical and equipment suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing new chemical-based solutions for processes and products
- Leading R&D projects
- Documenting research and development activities and results
- Presenting research and development findings to internal and external stakeholders
- Providing technical support to production and other teams
- Conducting studies on the state of the art and industry trends to identify opportunities
for innovation - Cooperating with R&D partners
Key Qualifications and Skills
- Master’s degree in Chemistry
- At least five years of experience in research and development related to paper
manufacturing - At least 5 years of experience in project management
- Proven track record in developing new chemical-based solutions
- Experience with foam forming is preferred
- Strong communication skills in English required
We also value strong project management skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to work independently alongside effective teamwork. Experience in patent development and protection is considered an advantage. Strong communication skills in English are essential for success in this role.
