Purpose
Aisti Corporation Oy is committed to responsible, fair and equal treatment of employees and to respecting fundamental rights at work in all of its own operations.
This policy supports Aisti’s compliance with the requirements of FSC Chain of Custody certification concerning the FSC core labour requirements. This policy follows and complements Aisti’s Code of Conduct, personnel practices, occupational health and safety practices, and compliance with applicable legislation, employment terms and other binding commitments.
Compliance with laws and binding commitments
Aisti complies with all applicable laws, regulations, employment terms and other binding commitments concerning employment relationships, working conditions and employees’ rights.
Aisti does not accept any practices related to employment relationships or working conditions that violate applicable legislation, binding commitments or the company’s ethical principles.
Prohibition of child labour
Aisti does not use child labour and does not accept the use of child labour in its operations.
As a general rule, Aisti does not employ persons under the age of 18. In any possible exceptions, national legislation is followed, the suitability of the work for a minor is ensured, and requirements related to working hours and guardians are fulfilled.
Persons under the age of 18 are not employed in hazardous, heavy or other work that could endanger their health, safety, education or development.
Prohibition of forced or compulsory labour
Aisti does not use forced labour, bonded labour, work related to human trafficking, compulsory labour or any other involuntary work.
All employment relationships at Aisti are based on voluntariness and mutual consent. Employees have the right to terminate their employment in accordance with applicable legislation and the terms of employment, without the threat of penalty.
Elimination of discrimination in employment and occupation
Aisti treats employees and job applicants equally and does not accept discrimination in recruitment, hiring, remuneration, training, career development, working conditions, disciplinary procedures or termination of employment.
Employment-related decisions are based on skills, qualifications, job requirements, performance and other appropriate, objective and lawful grounds.
Freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining
Aisti respects employees’ right to organize, to join or not to join a trade union or other organization representing employees, and to participate in collective bargaining in accordance with applicable legislation.
Aisti does not prevent, restrict or penalize employees for exercising these rights.
Respectful working environment
Aisti treats employees, co-workers and stakeholders with appreciation and respect.
Aisti does not accept harassment, sexual harassment, bullying, intimidation, abuse, violence or any other inappropriate behaviour. Behaviour that creates a threatening, offensive, hostile or inappropriate working environment is not accepted.
Implementation, monitoring and review
Aisti maintains a self-assessment concerning the FSC core labour requirements as part of its FSC Chain of Custody system. The self-assessment describes how the requirements set out in this policy are implemented in Aisti’s operations and which documents, practices and evidence the implementation is based on.
This policy is kept available to the certification body and, where necessary, to relevant stakeholders.
Aisti reviews this policy regularly and updates it when necessary.
