SUSTAINABILITY

without compromise

At Aisti®, sustainability begins with material choice. In both construction and renovation, material decisions shape a building’s environmental footprint for years to come. We focus on measurable performance and responsible materials contributing to a broader shift in the industry towards changing construction for good.

LOWER IMPACT BY DEFAULT

engineered into the material

Aisti Aalto® acoustic tiles are made from natural wood fibre (CTMP), creating a bio-based alternative to conventional mineral wool systems.

The environmental performance is measurable:

Beyond carbon, Aisti is designed for circularity. The core material is 99.3% recyclable (CEPI certified) and can be repulped and reused to produce new tiles supporting a closed-loop material cycle.

We continue to develop circular solutions to further integrate Aisti into future material systems.

RESPONSIBLE PRODUCTION

designed for efficiency

Our technology choice enables, for the first time at industrial scale, the production of acoustic tiles made from natural fibres.

The material structure enables efficient use of fibre per square metre, reducing raw material demand without compromising performance.

We are actively developing new ways to incorporate recycled materials and sidestreams into our process – strengthening circular integration over time.

HOW WE ACT

as a company

Rethinking accessibility

The exceptional value of our tiles is their affordability and accessibility.

Tracing raw materials

For us, sustainability begins with how we source our raw materials. Our raw materials are sourced ethically.

Conserving energy

Our first factory will run 100% renewable energy to curb our carbon footprint.

Innovating circularity

The core structure of Aisti products contains no plastic binders, supporting circular material flows and material recovery.

Curbing CO₂

A carbon net-zero goal for the sector requires every material to reduce emissions.

RESPONSIBILITY

across the value chain

Changing construction for good is not only about what we make. It is about how we source, verify, document and improve the value chain behind our products. As a manufacturer bringing a new acoustic material to the construction market, Aisti has a responsibility to understand the materials, suppliers, services and data behind its products, including compliance, traceability, emissions, chemical information, working conditions and the reliability of sustainability claims.

A responsible product needs a responsible chain behind it.

CLEAR CLAIMS

not vague but verified

To avoid vague claims and greenwashing, sustainability and environmental information must be specific, verifiable and supported by clear boundaries and documentation. For us, this is a given, not an option. This applies to the information we receive from suppliers and to how we use it in product documentation, customer dialogue, and reporting.

We aim to be responsible in our communication, which means being clear about what is known, transparent about what is still in development, and careful not to say what the data can't prove.

We align our business strategy and operations with three priority SDGs and operate within the EU Taxonomy Framework.

Noise pollution remains a silent threat to people’s well-being and health. Our acoustic tiles create optimal indoor sound environments to protect people’s well-being and health.

Our products have a 10% shorter life cycle. The circularity of our products starts from raw material sourcing to recovering used tiles, then recycling used tiles into raw materials for new tiles.

We are mindful of the energy sources used in our production and continuously develop our processes to improve efficiency and reduce energy use.

Product

Aisti® acoustic tiles are made from natural wood fibres shaped into high-performing ceiling solutions. No plastic binders. No mineral wool. No synthetic shortcuts. Just a simple material engineered to deliver reliable acoustics with a lower environmental impact.

Bubbles on Aisti acoustic tile

Technology

Aisti uses foam-forming technology – a foam-based process where millions of tiny bubbles distribute fibres evenly, creating a lightweight, porous structure that absorbs sound naturally.
